Main fields of research and expertise
Anne PANDO-BAHUON is soil microbiologist, she studies interactions between plants, soil, macrofauna (earthworms) and microflora. She sets up and monitoring experiments, then she characterizes microbial communities by several techniques: molecular biology, biochemistry,… For several years, its activities have been part of urban ecology projects, in particular on constructed technosols. Expatriated to Laos for four years, she studied the environmental determinants of soil and water contamination by two bacteria: Burkholderia pseudomallei, responsible for melioidosis in humans, and Escherichia coli, a bacterium that controls faecal contamination of rivers. She is responsible for the soil containment room at the IRD in Bondy.
